Alicia H. Munnell

Director

Alicia H. Munnell is director of the Center for Retirement Research where she oversees the Financial Security Project.

Previously, Munnell was a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, assistant secretary of the Treasury for economic policy, and senior vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Munnell has authored numerous scholarly articles and books and edited volumes on Social Security, public and private pensions, tax policy, and productivity.  Munnell earned her Ph.D. from Harvard University.
